1/8/2009 - The first sunday of every month will be our breakfast buffet. The next one will be Jan 11th from 8-10am. The cost is $9.95 per person.
The third sunday of every month will be the members dinner.
Ladies Golf Clinics are starting up again this week on January 8th at 9:30am. The cost is $10 per player.

1/8/2009 - We are pleased to have Futures Tour player Christine Cho practicing at our facility. Her and her father Joshua are very kind people and we hope that everyone welcomes them. I am working in conjuncion with them and starting a Tour Academy that will bring over more tour players from Korea.
We have set up a deal with the GolfChannel that will be providing us national coverage via television and the internet. There will be more information coming in the next week.
Tips: During the winter the lies are tighter and can be more bare. Play the ball back in your stance a bit more and take a 3/4 swing. This will give you a steeper angle of attack and allow for you to get the ball up in the air easier.

4/30/2008 - Hernando Oaks announces the FIVE PLAY SUMMER CARD for 2008 goes on sale April 30th. The CARD is good for five rounds anytime on Weekdays and after 11:30 a.m. on Weekends, and may be used prior to 11:30 a.m. on Weekends for an $8.00 surcharge. Rounds may be played between April 30, 2008 and October 31, 2008. The CARD is non-transferable and not available for use with groups. Cost for the 2008 FIVE PLAY SUMMER CARD is $114.95 plus sales tax.
11/13/2007 - Hernando Oaks Golf & Country Club has recently completed a renovation of all sand bunkers. The project consisted of placing sod down the original steep “flash –up” bunker faces, installing new drainage and replacing the sand in every bunker on the course, The change definitely gives the course a more mature look.
We also raised and overhauled our irrigation pump station and completed the construction of a new “Blue” tee on hole # 12. The new tee should be in play in mid December. Total cost of the renovations was over $200,000.
In case you did not know, WE DO NOT OVER SEED OUR TIFEAGLE BERMUDA GREENS. We do over seed our fairways, tees and fringes, and have already done so. We hope that you come out and see the new changes for yourself!!
10/18/2007 - Hernando Oaks will be hosting the Catholic Charities Building Fund Scramble Golf Tournament on Friday, October 26, 2007. The public is invited to enter this terrific 12:30 p.m. shotgun event. The entry price is $60 per player. 6/1/2007 - Hernando Oaks Golf & Country Club announces initial fee increases, effective June 15, 2007. Resident full golf memberships will now be $7,500 for family, $5,500 for single. Non-resident full golf memberships will now be $11,000 for family, $8250 for single. Full golf initiation fees include sales tax. Resident golf initiation fees do not include resident social membership initiation fee of $1,000. Hernando Oaks residents are required to be social members of the country club. The social membership initiation fee is paid at home closing.

Our golf maintenance staff is now occupying the new permanent Golf Course Maintenance Building located near U.S. 41. The main 6,000 square foot building and ancillary building have been designed to serve our staff for many years to come.

Construction on the permanent clubhouse started in late August. Progress initially has been slow due to the recent rainfall, but all of that should change in the next few weeks. Completion on the 34,000 foot, two story building, is anticipated in appx. one year.

Hernando Oaks announces the sale of the 2006 FIVE PLAY SUMMER CARD The cost of the card is $109.95 plus tax for FIVE 18 hole rounds of golf including cart. Rounds may be played anytime on Weekdays and after 11:30 a.m. on Weekends. There is an $8.00 surcharge for rounds played on Weekend mornings prior to 11:30 a.m. The card is available in the Pro Shop beginning on May 1st and golf rounds may be used through October 31, 2006. Cards are non-transferable (for use by one person only).

Hernando Oaks will offer the Discount-Annual Membership golf plan for the coming year. The cost of the Discount-Annual Membership for 2006/2007 will be $129 plus tax. The Discount-Annual plan allows individual golfers to pay $25 plus tax per round for both Weekdays and Weekends. There will be a $5.00 surcharge for weekend morning rounds prior to 11:30 a.m. for the months of January, February and March only. The Discount-Annual membership will be available for purchase in the Pro Shop between June 1 and July 31, 2006.

Construction of a permanent Golf Maintenance building is in the final stages of construction. If all goes well the new building will be occupied in May.

Construction is expected to begin this month on both our permanent Clubhouse and Golf Course Maintenance buildings. The two-story Clubhouse should be completed in 2006, with a very optimistic goal of being open for Thanksgiving. The Golf Maintenance building should be completed by the end of Spring, 2006.

Hernando Oaks has hired Chef Mike Inferrera. Chef Mike recently re-located to the Spring Hill area from Massachusetts, where he spent the last 9 years at Cohasset Country Club. Welcome Mike!

The permanent Hernando Oaks Clubhouse is in permitting at Hernando County. The two-story 33,000+ square foot building is considerably larger than originally planned. The upstairs will feature a large Dining Room with covered balcony as well as a separate 5,200 SF Multi-use Banquet Room. Downstairs will include a Grill Room, the Golf Pro Shop, a huge Fitness Room, an Aerobics Room and Cart Storage along with other amenities. Clubhouse construction is expected to begin soon after permitting.
